Jean-Baptiste Lainé
HES Landscape architect

It was in Savoie, in the garden of his childhood home, that Jean-Baptiste Lainé discovered his love of nature and harmonious landscapes at an early age.

This sensitivity, nurtured by a rich and vibrant environment, naturally led him to landscape architecture.

After graduating from high school, Jean-Baptiste enrolled in the prestigious Landscape Architecture program at HEPIA in Geneva, renowned for its rigorous teaching and high-quality technical and artistic training. He graduated in 2010 with a comprehensive skill set combining drawing, technical design, and in-depth knowledge of plants.

He continued his career with Louis Benech, a leading figure in French landscaping, with whom he discovered the demands and precision of large-scale projects. This experience fueled his desire for independence and led him to found Atlas Paysages, his agency based in the heart of Lyon, in 2015.

Jean-Baptiste developed a sensitive and contextual approach to landscaping: each garden is designed as a living work of art, shaped to interact with its environment and reveal the spirit of the place. His style is distinguished by a subtle balance between nature and architecture, between spontaneous vegetation and mastery of lines.

Collaborating with renowned architects and interior designers, such as Pierre Yovanovitch, he has created a variety of projects in France and abroad: Parisian terraces, Swiss chalets, Mediterranean villas, and gardens in Lyon.

At the same time, passionate about craftsmanship and creation, in 2020 he designed a collection of terracotta vases, entirely handmade by a craftsman in southwestern France. These pieces, both aesthetic and durable, extend his vision of landscape art where every detail counts and nature becomes a medium of expression.

Through Atlas Paysages, Jean-Baptiste Lainé pursues his ambition: to create spaces where nature and man come together in a lasting and poetic harmony.
